"Hello Goodbye"
April 14, 2010

It's the end of an era, but the beginning, Betty hopes, of something wonderful. In the award-winning series' finale, which also features appearances by familiar faces from the past, Betty finds it hard to tell Daniel important news about her future. When she does, his reaction surprises her, but not Claire. Justin and Bobby enthusiastically consider taking advantage of a softening real estate market by apartment-hunting in Manhattan, but Hilda's resisting even the most amazing places. Amanda grapples with the death of her dog, Halston, and Marc wonders if he'll ever have a successful relationship, on the series finale of "Ugly Betty.

General Spoilers
Question: Ugly Betty scoop -- it's been ages! -- Hayley
Ausiello: The show threw itself a party Monday night to celebrate its season 3 premiere, not to mention its relocation to New York, and guess who was there! Me! Okay, now guess who wasn't there! Christopher Gorham and Freddy Rodriguez! Okay, now guess who asked America Ferrera about her absentee lovers! Me again! "Betty's decision at the beginning of this season is not an ending to anything," Ferrera insisted. "It's more about huge beginnings for her. Christopher Gorham, who we love and adore, and Freddy Rodriguez, who is wonderful and so great on our show, are not gone [forever]. You'll never know when they'll pop in or pop out, but they'll be around. " Guess who's a little skeptical! Yep, me! (Ask Ausiello)

Ex-Lost thesp Grant Bowler -- he played the swarthy freighter captain who was shot and killed in last May's finale -- is dropping anchor at Ugly Betty.
Sources confirm to me exclusively that the Aussie actor has been cast in the heavily recurring role of Meade Publications' CFO. "He's running the business part of the magazine," explains Betty exec producer Silvio Horta. "He's hot and cool and all the women are in love with him."
Rumor has it one of those women (Wilhelmina, perhaps?) may have previously raised his mast. (Ask Ausiello)

This certainly doesn't bode well for Hilda's romance with Coach Diaz on Ugly Betty.
Sources confirm to me exclusively that Eddie Cibrian is heading to USA Network's The Starter Wife for a three-episode arc. He'll play a detective who investigates some strange goings-on in Molly's (Debra Messing) life.
Starter Wife kicks off its first official season on Oct. 10; look for Cibrian to first appear around the eighth episode.
Getting back to the matter at hand, what does this mean for Cibrian's role as Ana Ortiz's hot new squeeze on Betty? As I reported last month, Cibrian was only committed to appear in four episodes this season. And Betty recently wrapped its fourth episode. And Cibrian's now on a new show. And... do I have to spell it out for you?! Sheesh. (Ask Ausiello)
