FTV Monte Carlo 08 & Chris Update
24 Jun 2008 | by: mona | 2 Responses

Becki Newton & Michael Urie attended the Monte Carlo film festival a few weeks ago and the team atSpoilersfrance.com / Uglybetty.fr filmed the entire interview.  You can check it out at this address.http://spoilersfrance.com/uglybettyserie/home.php?page=videospecials12 .

This letter from a reader who wrote into the cheers/jeers section of TvGuide Magazine, reacting to a news item that earlier reported that Christopher Gorham will not be returning in the fall, was in this week's issue.   I thought it was a rumor and sort of still do just because its too early to say and things change a lot with the third season barely even starting back up.  But you can also take solace inthis conflicting update from the new TV Guy at TvGuide that says we haven't seen the last of him.

Very well put. And it may be wishful thinking on my part, but weirder things have happened, Im still holding on to the hope that a lot could change.

The reason why Im hesitant to believe is because, its a really good role and Chris, while I respect him as an actor doesn't have a fall back like say, Rebeca does. He's an actor, they need work and this has been his most successful role yet, more people (I think) know him as Henry. I just find it a bit unbelievable that he would choose to give it up because he doesn't want to move to New York.

If say it was a writer or a Producer's rumor about letting him go, I would think differently. But the fact that the no moving to new york thing is attached to this whole deal, I question it.

I completely agree as well with you on the Jeer issue. Apart from Daniel, i don't expect anyone who comes into Betty's life as a love interest to remain for a long time. They stretched Henry as far as they could, but I think they condemned him as soon as we found out the baby was actually his. They had so many directions they could have chosen and this was just a bad one.

But, closure is nice and I do hope he comes back, if only for that.

Sorry, but I still think Chris is leaving. Sounds to me like the ABC spokesperson was trying to do a little damage control by counteracting with an "It's not true" reply to Chris' statement. There's no way they would confirm the truth about his status right now, especially since that would kill the cliffhanger leading up into Season 3.

True, it's too bad that Chris could be (and probably is) gone, but I think it's about time that Henry goes. And I don't agree with the writer of the "Jeer". First and foremost, the show is about Betty's progress, as she makes her way towards her dream job. It's not about being invested in her relationship with the first guy she had a crush on at Mode. That's only one tiny part of her journey. Besides - how can anyone have honestly expected her and Henry to have this "happily ever after" life from here on out? To me, it's unrealistic to think that Betty and Henry are meant to be together forever. Betty is a woman who's constantly on the go. As for Henry? Well, he's the kind of guy who's satisfied with staying home and making ice cream from scratch.

In essence, they may appear to be similar, but they are definitely two different people at heart. And it's time that they go their separate ways.
